Exemplar Enterprises, Inc. announced that it was awarded the Janitorial and Related services contract (AOC11C0004) for the House Wing of the U.S. Capitol Building, including Statuary Hall, that encompasses a total of 74,315 square feet of cleanable area.

“Exemplar has been entrusted with one of the most historic buildings in the United States and our team of service professionals will undoubtedly deliver exceptional janitorial services that will preserve and enhance the House Wing,” said Martha Lutt, Martha Lutt, President and Founder of Exemplar Enterprises, Inc. “Our proven track record, environmental stewardship, and familiarity with the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) cleaning standards will undoubtedly play a role in this all-important contract.”

The custodial service also includes cleaning of the Democratic and Republican Cloakroom as well as public restrooms throughout the House Wing.

Serving as the seat of the United States Congress, The United States Capitol sits atop Capitol Hill, at the eastern end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The original building was completed in 1800 and was subsequently expanded, particularly with the addition of the massive dome. Like the principal buildings of the executive and judicial branches, the Capitol is built in a distinctive neoclassical style and has a white exterior.
