The Ralph H. Metcalfe Federal Building houses the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) among other federal agencies with in its 28 stories and 711,662 square feet.
The building also has a daycare center encompassing 4,300 square feet and a fitness center. The grounds maintenance consists of 15,042 square feet.
The Metcalfe Federal Building has received several awards in the past few years. The Metcalfe won The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) award from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) on the local level every year from 2008 through 2011 and won the North Central Region TOBY in both 2008 and 2011. The building also won an ENERGY STAR® award for its energy-efficient features in 2007 and was recalcified in 2012.
